I’ve always created paintings influenced by where I grew up about Indonesia the rich exploration of its culture, history, landscapes, and social rhythms, brought to life through a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences. The people of Sulawesi, Sumba, and Flores inhabit their land with extraordinary care and knowledge, shaping homes and boats that carry the weight of ancestry, spirit, and cosmology. Their hands, their gestures, and their rituals are woven into the architecture itself, as if the dwellings and vessels remember those who built them. I layer these human forms with the flora and fauna of the Banda Islands, hints of maritime charts, and traditional symbols, creating compositions that trace the flowing currents between culture, memory, and nature, revealing the intimate dialogue between people and the land they inhabit.
